A driver with T6 and T8 bits
The Dragonfly is a knife which we recommend assembling in a specific order so that the parts all come together properly. The order we suggest is from the pocket clip end of the knife to the blade end. We've included a photo below of how the parts should look when arranged correctly. There are a couple of key things to look out for as you assemble this knife, and we'll include some troubleshooting tips below. Once again, make sure you're working from the pocket clip end to the blade end.
- We recommend applying something like scotch tape or masking tape over the ends of your inserted posts while you're working on the knife. This will help so that you won't have to worry about the posts falling
out during installation. - Insert the pocket clip post and place the backspacer over it. The pin which goes into the lower portion of the backspacer is a pretty important piece as it holds the 2 sides of the knife at a specific distance and redistributes some of the tension from the spring bar. Sometimes the pin can look like it's fully inserted when in reality it's not quite deep enough. Ensuring that it's deep enough will help to avoid issues with the posts rattling.
- Once the backspacer is in place you'll insert the bar into the slot of it. You'll want the side with the longer end to go into the slot.
- Insert the next post and place the locking mechanism on top of it. To do this you'll have to keep the lock at a bit of a strange angle for a second until you put the blade in.
- Insert the pivot post and add a washer. To get the blade in you'll need to pull down on the indented portion of the lock along the spine of the knife. Keep the tension engaged with one hand while you position the blade so it gets caught by the lock with the other.
- Once your blade is in add the second washer. Double check that the pin in the backspacer is still fully inserted before placing the second scale on top and replacing the screws. Hand tighten the screws gently to allow for a few final adjustments before finishing.
- Having posts which aren't fully seated can lead to blade alignment issues on this knife. We recommend pressing down on the lock to release the tension, then giving the knife a firm squeeze along where the posts are to ensure that everything is fitted correctly. Push each post to ensure that it is fully seated into both scales if needed.
- Tighten all screws carefully to finish the installation.
